Perhaps my favorite free outdoor activity is to watch indigenous birds flourish in their natural habitat. Having only lived in Utah for just over three years, there are hundreds of birds I have never seen before.

- Group of three Sandhill Crane on a rafting trip on the Weber River.
- Mountain Bluebird nesting in an ornamental cherry tree in my neighborhood.
Fall 2019
- Yellow-headed Blackbird on my way into the office.
Winter 2019
- Successfully identified a Cooper’s Hawk from a Sharp-shinned Hawk.
Spring 2020
- While walking my dog, both identified by call and visuals a Say’s Phoebe.
Summer 2020
- A family of Black-chinned Hummingbirds have taken residence in my neighbors’ maple!
Winter 2020
- There are so many American Kestrels finding home in my neighborhood this winter.
